These digital certificates should be stored on a secure removable device like a smart card, to prevent identity theft and misuse of the certificate.

SafeSign Identity Client (IC) Enabler for BlackBerry offers a solution for securely using your smart card with digital certificate on your BlackBerry device.
SafeSign IC Enabler for BlackBerry supports certificate enabled applications like User authentication, Device access and Email & file signing and encryption.
Currently the use of Java Card 2.2+ compliant cards and G&D Mobile Security Card microSD on BlackBerry is supported.
Together with the SafeSign IC software for Windows, Linux, MAC OS X and other platforms, and a range of SafeSign IC enablers, SafeSign IC supports multiple tokens on multiple platforms and multiple devices for more than 17 million users worldwide.
